the importance of your birth experience

Birth is a wholly consuming experience, and I believe everyone deserves to make the choices that are right for them. If that means having an extra birth partner/photographer, I’m there.

This pandemic has meant our choices as mothers and birthers has been limited. I’m angry. I’m cross for you. There’s an element of happiness, that we’re potentially safer from the virus, but mentally, we’re at risk, and that doesn’t sit right with me.

With the news that some hospitals are opening up their rooms to TWO birth partners, I want you to know that I am there for you. As your partner, advocate, friend, cheerleader, gopher, hand squeezer, anything. Your experience MATTERS. You MATTER.

Especially now, after a long stretch of being by yourself for appointments and scans, I want to ensure that you get the experience you deserve - you AND your partner. You are a force and I want to make sure you know that and are supported as such.

The last thing I want you to have to worry about is cost. Now we know that birth photography and professional birth partners/doulas can be expensive - I can assure you that it’s almost 100% practical. If I could do every birth for free, I would. But it’s just not feasible.

However.

That’s not going to get in our way. No way!

Below are some things to keep in mind when you enquire about having your birth story captured.

Did you know that when you’re enquiring about your birth story, you can always ask me about affordability?

If you need to have your birth captured and to have that extra support, I’ll be there. Because sometimes, it is a NEED over a WANT, don’t worry - we’ll find a way to make it work.

I offer payment plans to everyone who enquires, it’s up to you if/how you do it.

There’s discounts if you’ve had private fertility treatment - always. Because it’s almost never a choice.

Every year, I offer one birth story as a ‘pay what you can’.

No judgement. No question. No minimum. We’ll talk through all your worries.

I really really try to make sure that everyone who wants or needs me there, can have it.
